FierceMarkets, a fast-growing and profitable business media company based in downtown Washington, DC, is seeking an Associate Publisher, Life Sciences,
to fuel the next phase of our growth in the life sciences market. This is an opportunity to work with market-leading media brands -- FierceBiotech,
FiercePharma, FierceMedicalDevices, and 6 other titles spanning the drug and device development continuum – that reach over 150,000 unique readers
through e-mail, websites, in-person events, and social media platforms.
The Associate Publisher, Life Sciences, will report to the Publisher, Life Sciences, and will be expected to contribute operational bandwidth,
strategic insights, business analysis and creativity to the management of our life sciences product group.
Specifically, the Associate Publisher will:
Manage the production of custom advertising and editorial products. Act as a liaison between sales, operations, and editorial teams to meet production goals and timelines.
Collaborate with the sales team to create and monitor business and territory plans specific to the products and services we offer. Identify
lucrative new markets to pursue within the larger verticals we serve. Participate in sales calls and client meetings where appropriate.
Develop new webinar, e-book, and in-person event products based on client and reader demand.
Work with audience development and editorial teams to ensure the growth of our readership on all platforms (email, web, mobile and social).
Assist in creating and maintaining media kits and editorial calendars.
Qualifications
5+ years experience in publishing, news media, editorial/content production, or related industries.
Successful track record with roles in online media sales, online marketing or online journalism a strong plus.
Strong project management, collaboration and organizational skills.
Knowledge of life sciences industry not required, but a definite plus.
Track record of success as both a "thinker" and "doer."
