Job Description: Directs the home and design content of Sunset magazine, in print, online, and through special projects (such as Idea Houses and events).
Supervises the work of the Home department staff, including associate editor, style editor, contributing editor, staff writer, and freelancers..
Creates, assigns, and edits stories; collaborates with Photo and Design departments on story development and execution to ensure service to the reader and a consistent look and feel among home articles..
Focuses on trends in design and sustainability to shape Sunset's leadership position..
Collaborates with the Marketing department to create annual Idea House and other home projects, ensuring they correspond with Sunset's editorial mission.

Experience: 3-4 years experience at magazine/online titles, primarily with shelter/decor/design focus
At least 1 year supervisory experience
Excellent taste, good contacts in the home industry, and natural instinct for design trends
Knowledge of West Coast vs. East Coast/national trends and lifestyle values
*Appearances on television and at live events a plus, but not required

Hours: 8am-5pm
